The main goal of a puzzle obviously is to solve it.
However if a puzzle is finely crafted, solving it almost always is just the second most interesting thing to do with it.
The attention to detail in this puzzle is just phenomenal, so I wanted to capture the perfect edges on the brass pieces and the complexity of the shape of this puzzle. The fact that this puzzle can easily be placed on a shelf without falling apart while still be being able to disassemble and assemble it with such ease is the main thing that I wanted to highlight in the images.
Chris Ramsays love to chess is hard to deny in this beautiful deck of cards.
In order to pay highlight this great deck, I decided to include chess elements into the images. A glass of scotch and a good game of chess was the intention I took when I started styling these photos.
Of course the great highlight of this deck is the gold ink on the cards as well as the gold foil that was stamped onto the deck. Highlighting something that is that reflective and shiny is a hard task for photography because the reflections are very hard to control.
In order to draw even more attention to this very important detail of the deck, I decided to include more golden and reflective Elements into the images.
